Field Trip - Carvins Cove Water Treatment Facility
Join us on a tour of the Western Virginia Water Authority’s Water Treatment Facility in Carvins Cove on Tuesday, February 11th at 1:30 p.m.. This tour is free for conference attendees. Carvins Cove Water Treatment facility is the largest drinking water treatment facility in the Roanoke Valley. This tour will take you through the pre-treatment basins (outside) and the filter gallery (inside). You can expect to learn about conventional-style water treatment and some brief history of Carvins Cove Reservoir. This tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. No PPE is required for the tour.

Directions to the Carvins Cove Treatment Plant
Coming from the south on I-81, take Exit 146, turn left onto Plantation Road and go across the bridge over the interstate. The treatment plant will be directly in front of you at the intersection of Plantation Road and Angel Lane.
