Introducing.... The Virginia Forest Literacy Framework
Knowing what forests are & why they are important may seem like fundamental knowledge to an adult who grew up with access to nature, but fewer & fewer Virginians understand forest literacy or what everyone should know about forestry. In this workshop, we will engage with the new Virginia Forest Literacy Framework is & why it’s important through an interactive exercise. Participants will leave with a copy of the Forest Literacy Framework, resources for learning more about it, ideas for using activities that promote forest literacy in K-12 students, & connections between forest literacy & environmental literacy.
