How to Enroll

• Mark your calendar for the next enrollment period: January 6-17, 2025.

• During that time frame, visit our main Certification page for the link to enroll.

• Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis until all 25 seats are filled.

Pricing

• The cost to join Virginia’s Environmental Education Certification Program is $750. This can be paid as one, lump sum or can be divided into annual payments of $250. (If the candidate completes the program before all annual payments have been made, they will pay the remainder upon completion.)

• Other expenses will likely be incurred over the course of the multi-year certification process in order to meet self-guided learning requirements including training/workshop/conference fees, travel, and lodging. Each candidate will determine how they will meet their own self-guided learning goals.

Candidates enrolled PRIOR TO January 2025 continue to follow the original pricing scheme.

A Note about the Price Increase

During our Certification Program’s launch and initial startup, we have been fortunate to have an impressive amount of volunteer support, and we have been honored to receive startup grant funding from the Virginia Environmental Endowment. Now, in order to maintain program sustainability, keep up with inflation, and maintain both our trademark individualized attention as well as organizing value-added programming, it has become necessary to increase the price of the program to cover costs. This price increase begins January 2025. Candidates who enrolled under the original pricing scheme (prior to January 2025) will continue under the original payment structure.

Financial Assistance

At VAEE we believe that all educators who desire to grow their practice through professional development and certification should have the opportunity to do so. In this spirit, we offer financial assistance as our funds allow.

Information for New Enrollees

If you are not yet enrolled and plan to enroll during the January 2025 enrollment period or later, you can find information about financial assistance here.

Funding assistance requests for the current enrollment period must be completed and submitted by Friday, January 10 at 12:00 pm (noon). No exceptions to this deadline will be offered. You can find the link to request funding assistance in this information sheet.

Information for Those Already Enrolled in the Program

CHOICE Program

K-12 educators who are enrolled in the CHOICE Program may use their funding towards this Certification Program. See CHOICE Dashboard item #1413.
